Telecommunications
SEGRON offers future-proof test automation solutions for the full suite of telecommunications ecosystem for faster and better service verification.
Beyond End2End®
Test Automation
As new technologies enter the market, network providers have to cope with new levels of complexity. At the same time, interworking these new elements into existing networks has become business-critical.
SEGRON test automation solutions ensure optimal service quality and time-to-market for next-generation 5G and IoT services.
SEGRON Beyond End2End® testing approach integrates seamlessly into existing quality assurance systems
What makes the SEGRON ATF approach unique is that it can orchestrate real-time testing with out-of-the-box end-user devices (iOS and Android smartphones, tablets, and IoT devices, among others). Plus, it does it all while providing full access to the systems under test, enabling real-time audio, signal trace, system log, and CDR analysis.
SEGRON ATF provides feature-rich, high performance verification, finally offering players in the telecom ecosystem a full testing solution.
With rapid network and device verification, SEGRON ATF ensures the highest possible quality without sacrificing efficiency.
When it comes to smartphone automation, it can automate any iOS or Android devices, even with custom firmware installed, and integrate them into our solution. No “rooting” or “jailbreak” is required, and no specific software has to be installed for automation.

Beyond End2End®
capabilities for the
Telecom Industry
SEGRON ATF is designed to go beyond End2End testing to offer signaling data and other protocol-level information about your network as it’s being tested. In this way, you can get more in-depth test reports that help you find root causes much more quickly when tests fail.
SEGRON ATF is designed to go deeper, offering users test data that covers the space between your endpoints (e.g. signalling patterns, etc.). This means that it can uncover errors and potential service issues that otherwise remain hidden, even in cases where all relevant tests seem to pass.
Signalling Protocol Analysis
Signal trace and analysis are essential for high-quality testing. The ATF Signalling Protocol Analysis feature is the direct result of decades worth of proven field experience in software development and signalling network design, enabling users to analyze and verify the entire 3GPP and IETF protocol stack on a bit level. The ATF easily analyzes all protocols decoded by Wireshark.
Audio Verification
The ATF can easily analyze tones, speech path, and announcements on all automated end-devices (smartphones, SIP phones, and legacy phones, among others). Tones can be analyzed in connection and pre-connection state (e.g. ring-back tones, dial-tones, etc.). Voice path verification is performed with ITU compliant voice samples.
Automated Document Analysis
The ATF is able to verify PDF documents (e.g. customer invoices, orders, etc.).
Protocol Analyzer / Centralized Monitoring System Automation
Wireshark, or any other monitoring system offering API.
Man-machine Interface Automation
The ATF integrates with the MML syntax of all major network equipment manufacturers, and is designed to integrate with the MML and GUI configuration interface for all major IT and telco equipment manufacturers. This feature enables flexible configuration and internal log analysis to ensure the highest possible test quality.
Charging Verification
Automated collection and analysis of CDR/EDR (Call Data Records/Event Data Records). Details content verification for revenue assurance and end-customer billing.
Mobile Devices &
App Test Automation
Our solution to the problems we’ve outlined above is the result of several years of development and know-how in the Telecom Industry.
When it comes about Mobile Automation, SEGRON ATF covers the following use cases for universal Android and iOS device operations:
- Call handling: dialing and calling, answering and rejecting calls, verifying callers, verifying call status (not connected, dialing, connected).
- SMS handling: composing and sending, opening SMS, extracting message text, delivery status, and delivery receipt verification.
- Device status handling: enabling/disabling Airplane mode, Wi-Fi, mobile data, CLIP.
- Device status verification: registered, mobile data ON/OFF, signal strength.
- MMI handling: USSD and Ut/XCAP handling, sending MMI strings, verifying responses, interacting with MMI based dialogs.
- File download and speed-test automation: start speed tests, verify results (downlink, uplink, and ping).

CRM Capabilities
(OSS/BSS)
OSS/BSS functionalities have a tremendous impact on the
average telco’s ability to protect revenue and roll out new service offerings. They include among others billing, provisioning, data collection, and monitoring all covered with the SEGRON ATF.
OSS (Operations Support Systems)
It supports back-office operations like provisioning, service activation, and bandwidth management. This functionality helps users within the telco operation to design, activate, and assure service for new offerings (e.g., VoIP network connections in a new region or a new roaming partnership with another operator).
BSS (Business Support Systems)
It integrates with your CRM to generate invoices, collect bills, process payments, and do anything else required for the customer-facing aspects of order fulfillment and billing. The SEGRON ATF is integrated with the CRM system being used by the business in addition to the usual test elements like out-of-the-box smartphones. Once all the set-up has been completed, users can automatically perform calls and use data with the phones, verify that the voice and data usage is being recorded properly, and then ensure that the data is being transmitted to the right place in the CRM for future invoice generation.
