Ensuring Premium Service Quality: Our Lab Testing Approach
Ensuring that your network consistently meets the high-quality standards expected by customers begins with rigorous testing in the lab environment before implementing changes on the live network. This process includes performing regression testing across all network domains, often in conjunction with various cutting-edge end-user devices.
Our comprehensive user experience testing portfolio empowers you to enhance the Quality of Experience (QoE) for all your services and applications. We offer solutions for native voice, data, video services, as well as OTT applications. In every lab environment, multiple departments collaborate, resulting in frequent changes that can impact lab functionality.
Our Lab Health Check solution enables you to maintain a healthy lab by conducting daily regression tests, promptly identifying issues and facilitating swift mitigation, thereby avoiding delays in acceptance testing.

Automated Mobility Management (RAN Testing)
Mobility management testing involves assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of mobile network systems to ensure seamless device handovers, optimal connectivity, and user satisfaction.
With ATF we provide you a tool that is perfectly designed for that covering a wide spectrum of mobility test scenarios, including inter-system handover, intra-system handover, SRVCC, 5G dual connectivity verification, and more encompassing Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice over New Radio (VoNR), and OTT voice services. Using attenuators and shielded boxes we simulate various coverage scenarios executing the tests on real smartphones and providing Layer3 radio analysis.
Emergency Calling
Emergency calls are vital for saving lives and ensuring public safety by connecting individuals to critical services in case of accidents or during crises. The call needs to be routed to the closest PSAP (public safety answering point) where human beings are responding to the call. Beside standard emergency calls between human beings and police, fire, or medical services there is the so called eCall which is a European initiative to reduce response times for automotive accidents, and it has served as a guideline in various countries worldwide in the meantime. An eCall-equipped car automatically dials an emergency numberin a serious road incident. It gives emergency operators information relating to the incident, including GPS coordinates, the time of the incident, and the vehicle identification number.
Emergency calls must work regardless if legacy or brand-new technology is used, if calls are CS or PS based and independent from the end user device. Hence support of fixed phones (PSTN, SIP) as well as mobile phones (2G – 5G) is required. As certain intelligence is provided by the phone (e.g. AML – Advanced Mobile Location) testing with real smartphones and different OS versions is mandatory. For eCall special devices supporting that function need to be used
SEGRON’s test suite for emergency call verifies the availability and performance of the service on real mobile over 2G, 3G or VoLTE networks. Additionally, a proper CLI handling, short Call Setup Times and excellent Voice Quality can be checked.
Regression Testing
Regression testing in mobile networks is key to ensure the robustness and reliability of constantly evolving telecommunications systems. By systematically retesting modified or added functionalities, regression testing safeguards against unintended consequences, identifying and rectifying potential issues before they impact customer experience. This iterative testing approach enhances software quality, validates the compatibility of new features with existing functionalities and hence maintaining the stability of all services.
Using SEGRON’s Active Testing Solutions regression testing can be fully automated by executing in fast and reliable way a set of predefined test cases which were designed to cover the complete core & radio network for all available network domains in combination with latest devices.
5G, Network Slicing & Latency
The introduction of 5G networks brings unprecedented benefits, including faster data speeds and lower latency. However, it also increases complexity. The intricate architecture of 5G, with its use of diverse frequency bands, advanced technologies like Massive MIMO, and complex network slicing, amplifies deployment and management challenges. The denser network infrastructure required for 5G further complicates maintenance and troubleshooting. Additionally, the integration of diverse technologies such as IoT and edge computing as well as multi-vendor based networks due to ORAN technology heightens the overall complexity. All that leads to an increased need for end-to-end and interoperability testing.
SEGRON’s solutions are able to orchestrate automated testing via one a single platform covering all relevant 5G capabilities using real end customer devices. Based on our powerful Layer-3 tracing solution we can verify the correct parameter settings and messaging flow according to 3GPP standards, for both 5G NSA and SA (VoNR).
Of course, also the verification of network slices, download speeds and low-latency scenarios (eMBB, URLLC & mMTC) is covered.
Automated Mobility Management
Our innovative testing approach empowers comprehensive mobility management testing for
mobile voice and data services, encompassing Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice over New Radio
(VoNR), and OTT voice services. We ensure the accurate functionality of intricate radio
interworking, covering a wide spectrum of mobility scenarios, including inter-system handover,
intra-system handover, SRVCC, 5G dual connectivity verification, and more. Our RAN Verification
Suite, based on SEGRON’s attenuator control and shielded boxes, supports these scenarios.
Additionally, we offer in-depth analysis of related radio interfaces using Layer3 radio analysis.
Emergency Calling
SEGRON’s emergency call testing solution is crucial, as the availability of emergency services could pose a significant risk to human lives. It is essential to efficiently route emergency calls to the nearest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), where human responders answer these calls. Our advanced testing solution can distinguish between the following scenarios: Standard emergency calls, Enhanced emergency calls, and eCall.
SEGRON’s emergency call testing verifies the availability and performance of the emergency call service on real mobile devices. It ensures correct functionality across 2G, 3G, and VoLTE networks. Our testing also encompasses proper Caller Line Identification (CLI) handling, Call Setup Times, and Voice Quality, thus guaranteeing the quality of service and a positive experience for your clients.

5G, Network Slicing & Latency
5G networks bring complexity, making end-to-end testing essential to ensure service functionality and performance. Therefore, comprehensive end-to-end testing is required in a multi-vendor 5G environment.
SEGRON provides complete end-to-end testing capabilities for 5G networks, covering all core nodes and interfaces. We enable the validation and assurance of key functions using real end customer devices, orchestrating automated testing through a single platform. In regions with non-uniform network coverage, our solution includes handover verification options to accurately assess user equipment (UE) behavior during interworking with 4G, 3G, and other networks in areas with no 5G coverage. Our capabilities also extend to testing and verifying network slices, fast download speeds, and low-latency scenarios (eMBB, URLLC & mMTC).
